Free to use · no card needed
Your DJ library, analysed and ready for the booth.
Upload the tracks you own. Scratch Storage works out BPM, key and genre, keeps everything in one private cloud library, lets you practise the set in DJ mode, and exports to a USB that CDJs, Serato and Engine just read.
Free to use. No card, nothing to install.
Exports for
- Serato DJ
- rekordbox
- CDJ / XDJ
- Engine OS
- Traktor (M3U8)
Upload
Bring the music you already own
Drag in your purchases, promos and own productions. Scratch Storage keeps them in a private cloud library and analyses each one the moment it lands.
- FLAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3 and M4A
- Private to your account: nobody else can see your library
- Never transcoded: the audio you upload is the audio on the stick
Library
A library with a BPM and key analyzer built in
Every track arrives analysed: BPM, musical key in Camelot and Open Key, a genre folder, integrated loudness and a waveform. Sort and filter by any of them, fix what you disagree with, and see the format of every file at a glance.
- Sort by BPM, key, genre or length; automatic genre folders
- Edit BPM, key, genre and tags; reset to the analysed values any time
- FLAC, WAV, AIFF and 320 MP3 badges on every track
Playlists
Build the playlist, then the USB
Create, rename, reorder and delete playlists, and add tracks from your library with BPM and key in view. Arrange playlists in folders on USBs, one per stick, and export the same USB again if a stick goes missing.
- Drag-and-drop ordering
- Add from the library, BPM and key in view
- USBs: folders of playlists you can export again onto a new stick
DJ mode
Practise the set before the gig
Two decks and a mixer in the browser, loaded straight from your library. Beat grids are measured from the audio, Master Tempo keeps the key when you change the tempo, and a recorder captures the mix.
- Hot cues, loops, sync, EQ and filter
- Stems: vocals, drums, bass and the rest, separated on your own GPU
- MIDI presets for the Pioneer DDJ-400 and DDJ-FLX4, Learn for the rest
- Record the mix and download it
USB export
Export a USB, a playlist or your whole library to a stick, straight from the browser
Plug in a stick, pick it in Chrome or Edge and Scratch Storage writes the files directly. Other browsers get a zip with the same layout. Every export includes a folder per playlist, in the folders you set up, with M3U8 playlists, Serato crates that Serato DJ picks up instantly, and a rekordbox.xml you import in rekordbox and then export to CDJ-ready USB. Engine OS players browse the folders and analyse on load.
Serato DJ
Crates in _Serato_/Subcrates. Plug in; they appear.
rekordbox / CDJ
Import rekordbox.xml, then Export to USB for waveforms and grids.
Engine OS
Browse Music/<Playlist> on the player; analysed on load.
How it’s built
Private, accurate, portable
Private by default
Your files, playlists and USBs belong to your account. Nobody else using Scratch Storage can see or open what is in your library.
Measured, then yours to correct
BPM, key and genre are measured from the audio. Disagree with one? Edit it, and reset to the analysed value whenever you like.
Yours to take anywhere
Export a USB, a playlist or the entire library with playlists, crates and tags in the files. No lock-in — the stick works without Scratch Storage.
Scratch Storage is a tool for organising music you have the right to use — your purchases, promos and your own productions. It is not a source of music. Scratch Storage is not affiliated with AlphaTheta/Pioneer DJ, Serato, Denon DJ or Spotify; product names are the trademarks of their owners.
Questions, answered
- Is Scratch Storage free?
- Yes. Scratch Storage is free during early access and there are no paid plans yet. If that changes, you'll hear it from us clearly and in advance.
- What can I upload?
- FLAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3 and M4A files that you have the right to use: your purchases, promos sent to you and your own productions. Scratch Storage is not a source of music; it organises the music you already have.
- Who can see my library?
- Nobody else using Scratch Storage. Your files, playlists and USBs are private to your account. You can share a playlist's or USB's song list by link (never the files), and turn it off again. The people who run the service can access them only to keep it working, give support or respond to legal requests, as the privacy policy explains.
- What if the BPM or key is wrong?
- Edit it. BPM, key, genre and the usual tags can be changed on any track, and the analysed values are kept, so you can reset to them whenever you like.
- Which DJ software and players does export cover?
- Serato DJ (crates it picks up instantly), rekordbox and CDJs (a
rekordbox.xmlyou import, then export with rekordbox), Engine OS players (they browse the folders and analyse on load) and anything that reads M3U8, such as Traktor and VirtualDJ. Chrome and Edge write straight to the stick; other browsers get a zip. Details on the USB export page. - Do I need a controller for DJ mode?
- No. DJ mode works with a keyboard and mouse. If you have a MIDI controller, there are presets for the Pioneer DDJ-400 and DDJ-FLX4, and Learn maps anything else in browsers that support Web MIDI, such as Chrome and Edge.
